FBC Student miNISTRIES
The goal of our student ministry is discipling students while providing them with opportunities to serve and invest in others. Each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening, students are encouraged and challenged to desire and delight in Christ as they are equipped to fulfill the mission of making disciples for the glory of God.
Student are also given the opportunity to be involved in youth committees through which they are taught to be purposeful in developing, organizing, and executing corporate ministries throughout the year.
Additionally, students meet in small groups, which provide an opportunity for encouragement from an adult mentor who prays with them and provides accountability.
Because parents play a primary role in discipling students, we meet with parents at different points throughout the year to inform the m about what the students are learning and to provide resources that will help them fulfill their role well.
To inquire for more information about our junior high or senior high youth ministries, please contact Pastor Dan Fields at 641.782.5417.
Every Sunday and Wednesday we offer an infant nursery and a toddler nursery for your little ones.
Sunday School classes are available for kids of every age through 12th grade. In those classes, your children/youth will walk through the Bible and learn about Jesus Christ in an age-appropriate way. The classes are fun-filled and taught by committed and trained volunteers.
During the school year on Wednesday nights we have an AWANA ministry that helps our children and junior high youth learn about god through Scripture member and Bible lessons. Contact us to learn more about our AWANA ministry. (link to contact)
During the summer months AWANA continues in a different format called “Kids of Character.” Wednesdays at Kids of Character, children participate in songs, games, crafts, and Bible lessons.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Here at First Baptist Church we take the safety and security of your children seriously. We have a dedicated security team made up of former and current law enforcement officers in our building for church activities. Our building is equipped with a monitoring security system. Every lead teacher must be a member of our church and have been in regular attendance for six months before assuming a children’s leadership position. Trained teachers are with your children at all times.
ADULT BIBLE FELLOWSHIPS
Every Sunday following our morning worship service, we offer adult Bible studies in a small-group format. They are called Adult Bible Fellowships. We would love to each adult join one of these fellowship groups. Each A.B.F. focuses on biblical teaching, Christian fellowship, caring for one another, and Christian service opportunities.
A.B.F. Growth Groups
On Sunday evenings during the months that have five Sundays, instead of our normal evening worship service, each A.B.F. hosts its own “Growth Group.” The best way to be a part of our Growth Groups is to connected with one of our Adult Bible Fellowships.
We understand that there are times in life where we just need a helping hand. We want to come alongside you and encourage you with biblical truth that will bring about lasting change and offer eternal hope. We believe God has given us all we need to know Him and live in a way that pleases Him in His Word. All our difficulties may not evaporate, however, when a person willingly submits to God’s instructions and clings to His promises, there is always help and hope.
